Review from the back cover:

SANDER ZULAUF: To read the poem titles in the contents pages of Intersection on Neptune is to ride the Cyclone at Coney Island and get knocked down by a big breaker at the Jersey shore. When I encounter the power of these poem moments, memories and lots of foods surge healing empathy through my body, mind, heart, and soul. In these pages, Donna J. Gelagotis Lee fully celebrates the American immigrant experience and creates a neighborly pastoral of people helping other people, of people knowing other people in their communities, of people singing together and playing together and yearning together, a New York and a New Jersey long gone and deeply missed.

THE RINK GIRL

Mark Brazaitis

Review from the back cover:

PAUL WYLIE, 1992 OLYMPIC SILVER MEDALIST: Mark Brazaitis has taken the ice rink and turned it into a space where real people live, dream, hope, hate, and fear. This is not your after-school-special view of the skating community, but a deep dive into the drama (and humor) of the characters who inhabit it. Brazaitis has an uncanny way of bringing to life heartbreaking, often quirky people you may or may not know from being around a rink or anyplace where people are passionately pursuing outsized dreams with their entire being.

MY BELOVED HAD A VINEYARD

Ryan Harper

Review from the back cover:

ALFRED CORN: Finding a poetic equivalent for the matter of our United States has been a preoccupation of many poets, Whitman, Williams, Crane, Hughes and Lowell only the most famous. In Ryan Harper’s work this same preoccupation takes on a theological inflection, in which matter and spirit must unearth what he calls “real relation." Like Thoreau, like Frederick Law Olmsted, he thrives on the interface between human constructs and the natural world, as he discovers a poetry of sensory accuracy, cogent thinking, verbal intricacy and rhythmic subtlety.  I know of no one in his generation with greater intelligence and finer aesthetic resources.  Temperamentally unsuited for lavishing superlatives on poetic debuts, still I can’t avoid feeling that Ryan Harper’s is magisterial and profound. Welcome him.
